Dr Wasserman’s dream to be a doctor started early in life. She remembers watching her father go through medical training as a young child and loved the idea of spending each day helping people. With a father who was a doctor and a mother who was a nurse, she attributes both with having a strong and lasting impact on her life’s path. “They both built their lives around helping people,” noted Wasserman. “They ended up instilling that same need to serve in all of their children.” When her younger sister was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease while Dr Wasserman was in college, gastroenterology became a personal focus.
