HistoryIn 2006, Compass Church was planted by a group of Jesus-followers who became passionate about reaching their community. A decade later, Compass was presented with the opportunity to merge with Frontline Church (Plainfield) to continue to move the mission forward. This was the deciding factor in the name change to The Center Church. 12 years later, we are still a community of people centered on Jesus and the radical grace He gives - no matter who you are, where you are from, or what you have done.SpecialtiesMany churches can be known for a lot of different things (think buildings, or thousands of people, or worship bands, etc). It's easy in our culture to be confused about why the church exists and if I don't currently engage in a church, why start now? We believe that, like Jesus, pursuing people who are far from God with the heart of God is the most important thing. We admit, it's easy to get caught up in numbers, buildings, events and everything else church can be associated with. But we are obsessed with zeros. You read that correctly. Our mission is not complete until zero lives are unchanged by Jesus Christ.
