In 1939, Hemenway Concrete Products was founded by Ray Hemenway I The company produced concrete steps and ornamental iron. Ray Hemenway I was a highly respected businessman and active in the DFL party. Serving as U.S Marshall, Hubert Humphrey's campaign manager. He remained active in the party expand the business to include structural steel, residential and commerial railings, spiral staircases. Ray Hemenway II expanded the plant over 12, 000 sq. ft.
