Le Sueur Nursery School

The concept of the Le Sueur Nursery School began over 50 years ago. We began in a church basement and after two years graduated to our own building which looked like a little white house of the 1950s. The Le Sueur Nursery School is an educational program for children from three to five years old. The children attend 2 1/2 hour sessions with other children of the same chronological age and further geared to their development level. Their play experiences are designed to enhance early learning with a goal of kindergarten preparation. Art, music, rhythm, story, and learning centers are used to reach our objectives during each session. Our staff is fully licensed by the State of Minnesota. There are two to three teachers in each class with no more than 20 children in each class. We are fortunate to have an experienced staff with little or no change in staffing from year to year. Transportation is available from the ( City of Le Sueur ) Para-Transit Teddy Bear Bus. More information can be obtained by calling the city offices. Our funding consists of tuition paid by the parents ; financial support and use of the building and grounds by the Cosgrove Memorial Foundation ; tuition assistance support from the Le Sueur Area United Way ; and one fundraiser sponsored by our Board of Education and parents. Information may be obtained by telephoning the school at 507-665-2028. Office hours are 8: 15 AM to 3: 45 PM Monday - Thursday during the school year. During summer break, an answering machine is available and is checked regularly so that inquiries can be contacted. Pre-registration for the 20010-11 school year will be held May 3 ( 4 years by Sept. 1 ) and May 4 ( 3 years by July 31 ) at 7pm at the school.
