Life Help ( REGION VI MH/MR CMHC ) is a public, nonprofit agency licensed and partially funded by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. We provide mental health services to individuals in Leflore, Carroll, Attala, Holmes, Humphreys, Sunflower, Montgomery and Grenada counties. Life Help is one of fifteen community mental health centers created as a result of the Regional Commission Act of 1972. Life Help is governed by an eight member Board of Commissioners. The Board of Supervisors from each of our eight counties appoints a commissioner to serve on our Board for a four-year term. Offices are located in each of our eight counties, with our central office situated in Greenwood. Fees are based on a sliding fee scale, according to income and number of dependents. Medicaid, medicare, and private insurance are accepted. No one is refused for his or her inability to pay. All visits, applications, and telephone calls are completely confidential. Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Service is a regional mental health center that serves children, adults and adolescents. It offers a range of outpatient services, such as case management, counseling, living skills development and acute care. The center provides a variety of support services to individuals with mental illnesses and chronic and developmental disabilities. Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Service operates a work activity center that offers educational opportunities in reading, writing, math and health and physical education, as well as focuses on developing problem solving and communication skills. It also maintains group homes that provide accommodation and community-based care services. The center offers psychological evaluation, behavior support, intervention and anger management solutions. Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Service administers an employee assistance program and provides services to individuals addicted to drugs and alcohol. It maintains a staff of psychiatrists, psychologist, clinical therapists, case managers and substance abuse counselors. The center maintains a presence in Yazoo City, Miss.
