I knew there was a big need here in Perryville. It was my hometown and I still had family here. My goal when I came back was to establish a stable primary care group that we could grow and develop with the community as the population grew, and make sure that we were providing quality medical services to Perry County.

One benefit of practicing primary care is you get to treat a wide range of patients and their families. I have a passion for women's health and creating safe spaces for women to talk about any questions or concerns they might have. I'm a people person, so I'm really looking forward to developing relationships with patients in the clinic as well as outside the clinic.

I think the best nurse practitioners have a skill of listening and really almost being a detective with getting the root of issues and listening to not just the surface of what people say when they come to the doctors' office. A lot of times we're limited by time, so we have to keep digging to find the real root of what people are presenting us and making sure that we're asking the right questions to determine how we can best meet their needs.
