BankLiberty was established in Liberty, Mo., in 1955 with total assets of just $56,000. The original purpose of the then mutual savings bank was to promote the welfare of its members by developing thrift, pooling savings and financing homes. Its members paid in their savings, generally in small but regular amounts, to accumulate a common fund from which some of the members received loans for the purpose of purchasing or constructing homes. Today, with approximately $214 million in assets, BankLiberty is best described as a community and consumer-oriented stock financial institution which continues to evolve to meet the needs of the northern portion of the Kansas City metropolitan area. A wide variety of financial services are available from BankLiberty, including FDIC-insured checking, NOW, and Money market accounts, debit cards, certificate of deposit accounts, IRA accounts and 24-hour ATM service.
