Springfield Health Department
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department originally operated a city hospital and orphanage. It works to identify and respond to health threats, as well as provides medical status monitoring and disease prevention and control services for the general public. The department offers various types of medical information and enforces laws that protect the health and environment. It is also responsible for the inspection of restaurants, air quality evaluations, environmental hazard identifications and disease outbreak investigations in Springfield and Greene counties in Missouri. The Springfield-Greene County Health Department provides immunizations for infants, as well as a variety of medical laboratory, pregnancy testing, health education and nursing care services through its medical centers and hospitals.
