Matthew B Wilkinson, PHD, MD

Jennifer Svetlecic, MD is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician with Saint Luke’s Pulmonary Specialists. Her practice includes caring for hospital and clinic patients, both in person and virtually via telemedicine. Dr. Svetlecic is known to many of her patients as “Dr. Jen.” Outside of her practice, Dr. Svetlecic serves on the Approval Committees for the Pulmonary Disease Examination and the Critical Care Medicine Examination for the American Board of Internal Medicine. These committees construct the board certification exams for physicians in these specialties. She serves as an outside expert peer reviewer on complex cases for other hospitals through Chartis (formerly The Greeley Company). Previously, her peers elected her to three terms as chairperson of the Department of Medicine at Saint Luke’s North Hospital, and she served as director of Respiratory Medicine. An advocate for improving the quality of and access to care, Dr. Svetlecic was the first director of medical staff development for Saint Luke’s. She was also the first chair of the Professional Standards and Credentialing Committee. A native of Kansas City, Dr. Svetlecic received her undergraduate degree in biology and medical degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Additionally, she completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UMKC. During her residency and fellowship, she was awarded first place twice in UMKC's research competition. She is the recipient of three awards from the American College of Chest Physicians for her work on complications from lung transplants.
