Suburban Lawn & Garden was started by Bill Stueck in the early 1950's as a lawn mowing business while he was in grade school. In the fifty plus years since, Suburban has grown into a multi-faceted retail, wholesale and service organization dedicated to the principles of growing superior products, providing excellent service and always delivering great value. SL&G operates two garden centers/nurseries: 105th & Roe, Overland Park, KS and 135th & Wornall, Kansas City, MO, (Martin City). Suburban has two growing facilities that supply nearly 75% of the trees, shrubs and bedding plants sold at the nurseries. Suburban also maintains a yard-waste recycling center which accepts yard-waste for recycling into mulch and soil products. The Lawn Care Department operates out of a facility adjacent to the Yard Waste Recycling Center and provides full service grounds maintenance to many customers both commercial and residential. Services include mowing, turf and tree fertilization, shrub pruning and lawn renovation.

Bill's Tropical Greenhouse specializes in tropical plant rentals, leases, sales and service. Bill's Greenhouse is a locally-owned and operated, full-service interior landscape company serving since 1970. Its services include rentals of live plants for weddings, conventions and special events, leases including plants, containers, weekly service and plant replacement, sales of plants and containers with or without service and commercial and residential services. Bill's Tropical Greenhouse is located in Kansas City, Kan.
