After his military service, Dr. Holdiman went to medical school at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1976, then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa. Dr. Holdiman was presented the 2019 Dr. George G. Spellman Annual Service Award by the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center Foundation. Named after the late Dr. George G. Spellman, a longtime Sioux City physician, the special award recognizes community members or groups whose generosity with their time, talent and treasure exemplifies the values of MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center.
