Lux Middle School serves more than 1,000 students in grades six through eight. The school s academic curriculum includes classes in science, math, social studies, music, physical education, industrial technology and computer applications. It also provides instruction in consumer and family science. Lux Middle School maintains a library media center that offers a range of educational resources and materials. The school offers guidance counseling sessions. It has book and chess clubs, as well as a student council. Lux Middle School provides gifted and talented education programs for students with special needs. In addition, the school administers after-school programs. It is governed by the Lincoln Public Schools.
