Touro University Mission Statement The mission of Touro University-California is to provide quality educational programs in the fields of health care and education in concert with the Judaic commitment to social justice, intellectual pursuit, and service to humanity. Touro University California is a rapidly expanding graduate education institution focusing on health careers and teacher preparation programs. Touro University is composed of two campuses - the main campus located in Vallejo, California and the branch campus in Henderson, Nevada. This University is one of more than 25 division campuses within Touro College, a Jewish sponsored not-for-profit educational system principally located in New York. Touro University - California is the anchor tenant of the Mare Island complex, previously occupied by the United States Navy and used as a cryptographic school and education center. The 44 acre campus, shaded by eucalyptus trees and surrounded by San Pablo Bay, is a rare and tranquil site for this growing academic center. Current programs include a College of Osteopathic Medicine (providing the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree - D.O.), College of Health Sciences (providing a dual degree program in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Master of Public Health - MPAS/MPH), College of Education (providing teacher preparation credentials and Master of Arts in Education programs), and a College of Pharmacy (offering the Pharm.D. Degree). Touro University - Nevada is located in one of the most rapidly growing cities in the United States, and is becoming recognized as an outstanding health science center serving the greater Las Vegas area. The campus consists of two colleges, the College of Osteopathic Medicine which offers the following programs: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine - D.O. and the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) and the College of Health and Human Services which offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT), Master of Education (MEd) in School Administration and Special Education Generalist, and Endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Touro College and Touro University have developed educational programs in concert with societal and community needs. Our campuses have developed innovative educational programs developed by a dedicated faculty. Nevada State College, established in 2002, offers four-year educational programs to students. The college provides baccalaureate degrees in various subjects, including biology, business, economics, English, environmental science, history, integrated studies, mathematics, nursing, psychology and public administration. It also offers programs in law enforcement, speech pathology, teacher preparation, and visual media that include digital film, special effects, computer animation, and video game development. The services offered to the students include residential and dining facilities, career counseling, health care, computer laboratories with Internet access, and transportation services. The college is administered by the Nevada System of Higher Education, and has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students. Nevada State College is located in Henderson, Nev.
