Remsa Care Flight

Founded in 1981, Care Flight provides emergency medical and rescue service to the remote and rural areas of northern Nevada and northeastern California. It is a shared program of the Washoe Medical Center, Saint Mary s Regional Medical Center and Northern Nevada Medical Center. Care Flight has a staff of nurses, trained flight paramedics and pilots. It serves public safety agencies, hospitals and health service organizations. The company provides helicopters for emergency medical transportation. Additionally, it offers services to ill and injured people in Gardnerville and Truckee, Nev. Care Flight is one of the services offered by REMSA, which is a nonprofit emergency medical service system. Located in Reno, Nev., REMSA has a staff of more than 200 employees.
