John Strozzi Post #12108 is a vibrant and active Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post located in Beatty, Nevada. Established in 2011 with 36 members, the post has grown to include 119 members and is named in honor of Sargent Strozzi, a local veteran who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. Known as "The Can Do Post," John Strozzi Post #12108 has made significant progress since its inception, with a dedicated post building that was once a 1905 Rhyolite church.
With over 90% of its decorations and memorabilia related to its members, the post proudly displays the only Medal of Honor awarded to a Nevada service member during World War II. Regular meetings are held for both VFW members and the auxiliary, providing opportunities for camaraderie and community involvement. John Strozzi Post #12108 continues to honor its namesake and serve the Beatty community with dedication and pride.
