Byron Patton, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Thoracic Surgery team. Dr. Patton practices all aspects of thoracic surgery, including the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of benign and cancerous pulmonary and esophageal diseases. He specializes in treating patients using minimally invasive, robotic surgery, which involves smaller incisions and can reduce recovery time. Dr. Patton’s additional areas of interest include airway surgery for benign and malignant diseases, such as tracheobronchomalacia and airway stenosis; mediastinal tumors and myasthenia gravis; catamenial pneumothorax; thoracic outlet syndrome; and diaphragm paralysis. Dr. Patton takes an individualized approach to patient care and takes pride in creating a comfortable environment where patients are fully informed about their condition and treatment options. He finds reward in providing successful treatment and good news to patients and families. When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Patton enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
