Deer Park Fire Company-Rehab 13

Incorporated in August of 1948, The Deer Park Fire Company's current mission is to provide the citizens and emergency workers of Cherry Hill Township and its surrounding mutual aid communities with a Three piece Rehab and Canteen Unit. The Rehab concept was originally presented to the membership in late 2001 and after careful research and development an operating budget was drafted. The Board of Trustees appointed a Station Captain and he appointed a competent staff to move the plan forward. All Rehab unit line officers have a minimum of 20 years experience as fire fighters. After visiting several other Rehab units in the tri-state area the plan was finalized and presented to the Cherry Hill Fire Department and the members of Deer Park Fire Company for acceptance and approval. Once approvals were obtained three Rehab vehicles and all support equipment for the station was purchased and installed. During this time a campaign for new members was undertaken. This successful recruiting drive produced a total of seven new members and the total membership was now 35. Of these 35 members 24 of them are active members that respond to emergency incidents as well as the non-emergency calls for service that we handle. Delivery of Support Unit 1388 was during December 2003. Our first response with the new 1388 occurred on March 15, 2004 when we were called to King Of Pizza fire at Route 70 & Cornell Avenue. Delivery of Rehab 1385 took place during the 10 plus inches of rain that fell on July 12, 2004. The unit was lettered and stocked and the first run for 1385 occurred on September 22, 2004. We were dispatched to Pennsauken Township for an all hands dwelling fire located on Stowe Avenue in the Delaview section of the township. We were on scene for over four hours that day. Since those early runs we have been called to numerous Camden County incidents including Camden City, Cherry Hill, Voorhees, Gloucester Township, Berlin Borough, Berlin Township, Stratford, Clementon, Hi-Nella, Lindenwold, Winslow Township, and Waterford Township. In Burlington County we have been sent to Evesham Township and Delanco Township. We have also been called to Gloucester County and have traveled to East Greenwich Township. We will go where ever we are needed.
