The Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps, located in Closter, NJ, is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to providing emergency medical services and rescue operations to the community. They are staffed by highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians who are prepared to handle life-threatening situations such as childbirth, traumatic injuries, and cardiac arrest. In addition to their emergency services, they also engage in education outreach, visiting schools and community events to provide basic safety tips and certify community members in CPR and First Aid. With a history dating back to 1936, the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps is the only department in Bergen County, NJ that offers both ambulance service and heavy rescue operations. They serve not only Closter and Alpine, but also the Palisades Interstate Park and Parkway.
