Founded in 1988, Harrogate is a nonprofit life care corporation providing health care, assisted living, and skilled and long-term nursing care services. It offers more than 250 two-bedroom apartments with storage, parking, and gardening areas. Its amenities include dining areas, a library, auditorium, crafts room, media center, and woodworking shop and billiards rooms. It also offers pools, a fitness and spa center, massage therapy, card rooms, lounges, banks, balconies, and beauty salons and barbershops. Additionally, it provides housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, emergency call systems, 24-hour security, transportation, sprinkler systems and smoke detectors. Its additional programs include valet services, and organizing trips, cultural programs and events. Located in Lakewood, N.J., Harrogate also offers classes to the residents in various crafts, including watercolors, knitting, crocheting and quilting.
