H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB, also known as H&M, operates more than 1,500 fashion stores in over 30 countries. Established in 1947, the chain s stores offer a selection of garments for women, men, teens and children. H&M s collections are also supplemented with nightwear, underwear, accessories and cosmetics. Its children s department offers casual wear and swimwear. The chain s stores feature footwear, suits, cardigans and double-breasted coats for men. Its range of accessories includes jewelry and bags. The chain also operates the COS Collection of Style. It has nearly 73,000 employees and supports UNICEF to prevent child labor in Uzbekistan. The chain s garments go through several quality and safety tests. It participates in the Fur Free Retailer Program and has been accredited by the Fair Labor Association. H&M has more than 15 production offices in Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as works in association with over 600 independent suppliers.
