The Howell Township Police Department, established in 1971, is a law enforcement agency that maintains a variety of divisions such as patrol, detective, juvenile, records, internal affairs, community services and traffic safety. In addition, it operates a tactical unit, as well as communications and radio room. The Howell Township Police Department supports and conducts various community outreach programs, including public education, neighborhood watch, residential security, police bicycle patrol, and residential and commercial alarm system reviews. The department provides protection against destruction of private property and harassing phone calls.
