Mehtani Restaurant Group, founded by Sneh Mehtani, began its journey in 1983 with The Moghul Room in New York City's Pennsylvania Hotel. With no prior industry experience, Sneh learned quickly and successfully assembled a talented team of chefs, earning respect from both customers and industry professionals.

In 1990, she expanded the restaurant's reach to Edison, New Jersey, a suburb of Manhattan that had few Indian immigrants at that time. This strategic move allowed the group to introduce authentic Indian cuisine to a broader audience in the region.
