San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, proudly holds the title of the oldest Catholic church in the continental United States, with original walls still standing and actively hosting religious services. Located within the historic Barrio de Analco, this adobe structure has served diverse communities since its construction, initially facilitated by Franciscan friars to cater to soldiers, laborers, and Native Americans.

Dating back potentially to as early as 1610, San Miguel Chapel has endured significant historical events, including the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, resulting in restoration efforts that continued through the centuries. This cherished landmark embodies cultural heritage and the resilience of its community, reflecting the intertwined narratives of Spanish settlers and Native Americans throughout the region's tumultuous history.

This is a beautiful old church in Socorro. We were passing through so we could not go inside. We hope to come back some day and go to mass here
