History

Spirit Winds is a collective of fine artisan goods started by Richard Parra in 1978. The original concept opened to support the New Mexico art community. In 2018 Matthew Hechter & Cris Urena purchased the business from Richard to continue the vision. Matthew is a local New Mexican with deep roots in the artist community. His grandmother Natalie, was a prominent artist in Rio Rancho, NM. Matthew & Cris met in NYC but relocated with their children to Las Cruces in 2017. Cris immediately fell in love with the
