A Starting Place

A Starting Place is a nonprofit preschool program for children with different developmental levels and abilities. It includes a range of enrichment and academic opportunities for preschoolers. The program features special education, psychological assessment, behavior management and psychiatric consultation services. A Starting Place also includes occupational, speech and physical therapies, as well as training sessions for parents and children. It utilizes a variety of teaching methods and techniques. The program evaluates each child s motivation, attention span, problem solving skills and response to different kinds of stimuli. A Starting Place additionally observes child s interaction with staff, parents and other children. Its Center Base program integrates individualized therapeutic support services.
