Dr. Ciralsky is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill CornellMedicine. Her practice interests include corneal diseases and corneal surgery, advanced cataract surgery, laser vision correction, andcomprehensive ophthalmology.Dr. Ciralskyreceived her undergraduate education atBrown University where she graduated Magna cum laude. She also received the Anne Crosby Emery Fellowship upon graduation, an award given to two graduating seniors for scholarly ability and excellence of character. She thenobtained her M.D.from theJohns Hopkins School of Medicine. She continued her training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, where she completed her Ophthalmology Residencyand Cornea Fellowship. During her fellowship, Dr. Ciralsky was elected Chief Clinical Fellow of the Cornea service. She was also arecipient of the prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship.Dr. Ciralsky has been recognized as a gifted educator. She was awarded Fellow of the Year, an award given by the residents of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary for dedication and contribution to resident education. She is also actively involved in multiple research endeavors.Dr.Ciralsky is currently accepting new patients. Anton Orlin, MD, is anAssociate Professor of Ophthalmology and Retinaat Weill Cornell Medical College and an Attending Physician at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to: St. Giles Associate Professor of Pediatric Retina. Dr. Orlin is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery; a specialty requiring two years of additional training after ophthalmology residency focusing solely on diagnosing and managing diseases of the vitreous and retina. He completed his two year Vitreoretinal fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital.Dr. Orlin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester in New York. He attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency training at the Scheie Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. During his residency, Dr. Orlin was one of four residents nationwide picked to present his retinal research at the annual AUPO (Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology) meeting. He serves as a scientific reviewer to several major journals and has participated as a co-investigator in numerous clinical trials and laboratory investigations. Although Dr. Orlin has remained actively involved in medical research and education, his primary focus is to provide compassionate and excellent clinical and surgical care to his patients.His clinical interests focus on diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous including macular surgery, epiretinal membrane peeling and macular hole surgery, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, infectious retinitis and uveitis, ocular tumors, ocular trauma, pediatric retinal disease including retinopathy of prematurity. Dr. Heinze earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, where he graduated with Distinction in Medical Education. His commendable work included developing and implementing programs to support students from various communities to pursue medical careers. He then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Chicago – Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary (IEEI). During his residency he was selected to serve as chief resident and nominated by his peers to receive the departmental Resident Education Award. He further specialized with a two-year fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at IEEI, accredited by the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As a fellow, Dr. Heinze received the departmental Resident Education Award once again, along with the Fellow of the Year Award, in recognition of his continued dedication to resident and medical student education.Dr. Heinze is author and co-author of a number of journal articles and book chapters. His areas of clinical and research interest include utilization of artificial intelligence to streamline clinical processes, resident surgical education, and the development and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts aimed at supporting learners of all levels to pursue careers in medicine and ophthalmology.
