Brandon Scott Mogrovejo, MD

Zvi S. Marans, MD, associate professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center, is a full time faculty member of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Columbia. He is based in northern New Jersey, and is the founding and managing partner of a large, regional pediatric cardiology practice in Paramus, NJ. His practice, established in 1990, provides the highest quality academic specialty care in the context of a compassionate and nurturing environment. He specializes in congenital and acquired heart disease in children, and has a specialty interest in fetal cardiology. Dr. Marans is a skilled educator, and teaches a regular class in cardiac anatomy to the Columbia pediatric cardiology fellows. In addition, he is an attending at the pediatric cardiac neonatal intensive care unit at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at Columbia. His partners are also graduates of the Columbia training program and are full time faculty members at Columbia. He is married to Nina Kampler, a lawyer and retail real estate strategist, and is the father of four children.

Dr. Mariel Turner is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree from Smith College, and her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. She completed Pediatrics residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as one of the chief fellows in 2010-11. She then went on to advanced training in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology, also at CUMC, prior to joining the faculty in 2012. Dr. Turner specializes in pediatric cardiac catheterization and transcatheter interventions. She holds board certifications in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Her research has focused on pulmonary artery growth in patients with congenital heart disease, as well as on interventional therapies for pediatric patients with coronary artery disease. As part of the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Dr. Turner has also participated in several multi-center clinical trials of catheter-based devices and valves for use in pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease. Dr. Turner is active in teaching cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students at CUMC, and in 2014 she was honored with the Allan J. Hordof Fellowship Teaching Award.

June Wu, is a pediatric plastic surgeon/craniofacial surgeon. She is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery at CUIMC Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons. She has a particular interest in Vascular Anomalies, which are congenital abnormalities of the blood and lymphatic systems that affect patients, and most of these conditions currently have no cure. Dr. Wu is a Co-Director of the NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center Interdisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Group and is the Co-Director of the Vascular Anomalies Basic and Translational Research Program that concentrates on understanding the pathophysiology of these lesions in order for biologically targeted therapeutics to be developed. Dr. Wu completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry at Princeton University, and graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in Plastic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, after which she completed a Craniofacial Fellowship, followed by a Vascular Anomalies Fellowship, at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wu is a member of multiple professional societies including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, Plastic Surgery Research Council, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies, and others. Dr. Wu is on the Scientific Committee of both the Plastic Surgery Research Council and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies. Dr. Wu is a member of the In-service committee for the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation. This committee is responsible for writing examination questions for the In-service examination that every plastic surgery resident in this country is required to take every year during training in order to assess their competency.
