Steuben Gas Storage is an independent gas storage facility located in Canisteo, N.Y. The company is a partnership between Arlington Storage Corporation and Arlington Associates Limited Partnership. The Steuben partnership was formed to develop two reef reservoir storage fields: Adrian, which has been in operation since 1991; and Thomas Corners. The Thomas Corners field is a permeable reef structure buried at an average depth of 3,650 feet. Bounded by impermeable shales and sealed below a limestone reef platform, the 175-foot thick formation provides an excellent reservoir for gas storage.
