Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center provides drug addiction treatment and medical and dental care services. It offers adult and family medicine-related services, child and adolescent health care services, and treatment of HIV and AIDS. The center also provides primary care, including testing and medical case management. It offers various on-site laboratory services and women's health care, including prenatal and midwifery care. The center specializes in methadone maintenance treatment programs and family alcoholism and offers chemical dependency treatment services. Additionally, it provides mental health care, nutritional counseling and treatment of asthma. Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center offers training for students and AmeriCorps. The medical center is located in Albany, N.Y.

Since 1973, when it was founded as the Family Planning Council of Western Massachusetts, Tapestry has been the only organization in the region to continually provide reproductive health care to the area's most neglected residents, teenagers, women living in poverty, recent immigrants, uninsured individuals, the homeless, injection drug users, and men and women with HIV or AIDS. Today, Tapestry continues to grow in the number of people we serve and in the range of services we provide. From being the first in the region to offer the rapid one-day HIV test, to providing confidential birth control and emergency contraception services to those who have nowhere else to turn, to ensuring that more than 8, 400 low-income mothers and their babies get nutritious food through the WIC program, Tapestry continues to be there. Currently, Tapestry provides reproductive health care services to thousands of residents in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties. We are dedicated to continuing to meet each and every need until all people have access to reproductive health care and family planning, until the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases is halted, and until all children are wanted and able to grow and thrive in stable, healthy families.
