History
Angelica NY is named for Angelica Church, sister in law of Alexander Hamilton, by her son Philip Church who originally owned the entire county with Angelica at it's geographic center. Philip Church's mansion still sits nearby overlooking the Genesee River. The certified Catbird kitchen behind this food truck is on a small farm once owned by sequestered French aristocrats Matilde and Guillaume Baron Hyde De Neuville who with many others hid out here during the French Revolution. The farm now grows organic vegetables, lavender, buckwheat, forage crops, and experimental forage grasses. The focus of the Catbird Griddle is the Pancake Breakfast, but the Catbird also prepares lunch specialties using local ingredients wherever possible. The Angelica Farmers Market is is just off Interstate 86 in western NY state at exit 31 Local vendors, live music, and quaint village charm with 6 antique shops make it an easy and unforgettable stop if you are passing by.
