Center Health Care

Center For Disability Services, established in 1942, is one of the largest providers of community-based residential and health care services to patients with physical disabilities throughout the Northeastern New York. It offers various services that include hearing and vision screenings; clinical and family support; medical and dental care; nutrition and diet planning; and transportation. The medical services offered by the center include dentistry, neurology, pediatric consultancy, podiatry, psychiatry, and urology and pulmonary services. It provides vocational evaluation and training, and organizes workshops and prepares individuals for jobs in competitive employment. The organization provides personalized health education plans and assists in home and vehicle modification; scheduling of respite and recreational opportunities; and community integration and residential placement. St. Margaret's Center, founded in 1883, is a long-term care facility in New York offering care for medically ragile infants, children and young adults on a single campus setting. It offers 24-hour nursing care, therapy services and other medical treatments to the residents. St. Margaret's Center, through its Day Light Program, offers adult day health care services to patients, 21 years and above, suffering from various chronic conditions and disabilities. Additionally, the program participants have access to the Center for Disability Services, including primary and medical specialty care, dental and behavioral health services. St. Margaret's Center offers clinical services, developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary team that includes staff physicians, licensed nurses, physical, speech and occupational therapists, registered dieticians, psychologists, social workers and service coordinators. Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center provides drug addiction treatment and medical and dental care services.
