D/B/A Food Bank of the Southern Tier

Established in 1981, the Food Bank of the Southern Tier maintains a network of more than 175 hunger-relief agencies throughout various counties in N.Y. The organization operates shelters, food pantries, soup kitchens, and residential, senior feeding and day care programs. The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and is a participant in the Charity Seal Program. It operates two food distribution programs, including the Hunger Prevention & Nutrition assistance Program (HPNAP) and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). The organization maintains a more than 14,000-square-foot warehouse and office facility that includes a drive-in commercial freezer and refrigerator. The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is located in Elmira, N.Y.
