The United Nations Development Programme is an organization that operates under the United Nations. It helps countries prevent and recover from armed conflicts and natural disasters through advocacy, capacity building, conflict sensitive development, knowledge networking, strategic planning and programming and policy setting. It advocates for nationally owned solutions to reduce poverty and promote human development. It also promotes the role of women in development. Additionally, the organization works to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS and reduce its impact. Located in New York, the United Nations Development Programme operates through a global development network in more than 160 countries. Its executive board includes several representatives from more than 35 countries around the world. The organization s executive board secretariat facilitates the work of the board by reviewing and editing all kinds of documentation. It also makes logistical arrangements for meetings and provides information and other support services to board members.

Founded in 2004, Math for America ( M A ) is a private nonprofit organization with a mission to improve math education in US public secondary schools. With sites in Berkeley,,, Utah and and Washington DC, M A recruits, trains and retains outstanding mathematics teachers. M A offers Fellowships for both new and experienced teachers, including the M A Fellowship, which aims to increase the number of mathematically talented individuals entering the teaching profession, as well as the M A Early Career Fellowship and M A Master Teacher Fellowship, which support outstanding mathematics teachers already in the classroom.
