Faisal Shaikh, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and the Thoracic Surgery Section. He is the director of the newly founded Interventional Pulmonology Program at Columbia. This is a unique division that collaborates with thoracic surgery, pulmonary medicine, oncology and several other subspecialties in clinical care and research. Interventional pulmonology is at the forefront of performing state-of-the-art, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic thoracic endoscopy. After earning his medical degree at University of Tennessee, Dr. Shaikh completed his medical residency at Weill Cornell, where he developed an interest in pulmonary disease. Thereafter, he completed several advanced fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by interventional fellowship at the Harvard combined Beth Israel Deaconess and Massachusetts General Hospital program. Dr. Shaikh's clinical work focuses on performing minimally invasive bronchoscopy to provide our patients with effective diagnostic and therapeutic options for lung nodules, lung masses, and lung cancer. He has expertise in palliating benign and malignant airway obstruction as well as performing minimally invasive, single incision thoracoscopy. He has worked in a collaborative effort on developing Columbia's lung volume reduction program in order to provide patients with advanced treatment options in emphysema.

Sahil A. Parikh, MD is the Director of Endovascular Services at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His research interests focus on novel endovascular devices for the treatment of vascular disease. He has been the site and national principal investigator for several clinical trials and has authored more than 50 original manuscripts and reviews in basic and clinical cardiovascular medicine. He lectures frequently at national meetings including Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), ACC and SCAI amongst others. Dr. Parikh grew up in northern New Jersey and graduated from Livingston High School. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard College with an AB in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering and went on to earn his MD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital, cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and vascular medicine and intervention fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, all teaching hospitals affiliated with the Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Intervention.
