Genesee County Jail was built in 1985 and has an authorized capacity of more than 80 prisoners. Its responsibilities include maintaining safety and security for inmates, visitors and staff. The jail staff consists of correction officers, first-line supervisors, cooks and a jail superintendent. Genesee County Jail is affiliated with the New York State Commission of Correction.
