We continue to develop new partnerships and recruit experienced staff to provide diagnosis, treatment and counseling to those in need.Behavioral health services at Samaritan includes outpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient addiction services, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, and traditional outpatient addiction services. In addition, we also have a 32-bed inpatient mental health unit within the main hospital, and our emergency department has a dedicated mental health area to care for people in emergency situations.

The Carthage Area Hospital Behavioral Health, operated by Carthage Area Hospital, is designed to assist people with various emotional and psychiatric problems. We are located at 3 Bridge St. in the Carthage Area Hospital Professional Building. Upon calling the clinic, or receiving a referral, your case will be assigned to the appropriate staff member. At the initial visit, the staff member will conduct an initial assessment and a plan for treatment will be discussed with the patient.
