The Greentree Foundation, in partnership with the Seatuck Environmental Association, offers the annual Greentree Foundation Teachers Ecology Workshop. This comprehensive program, now in its 12th year, provides elementary and secondary school teachers with in-depth lectures, field-based programs, and hands-on learning experiences to enhance their knowledge of Long Island's natural world. Led by Seatuck staff and local experts, the workshop equips participants with skills and techniques to incorporate nature into their curricula, use the outdoors as an extension of the classroom, and align nature study with the NYS Science Learning Standards.

Participants of the Greentree Foundation Teachers Ecology Workshop spend a week in July at the Greentree property in Manhasset, New York, exploring the 400 acres of mature woodlands, restored grasslands, and glacial topography. The workshop also includes Saturday field trips and programs throughout the school year, allowing teachers to further explore Long Island's diverse natural features. This program, which is free of charge and open to NYS certified teachers and administrators working in Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn, offers professional development opportunities and the chance to earn graduate credits through Adelphi University.
