James Leach, MD - Lincoln Medical Health Center Dermatology

M. Carmela Evangelista is an Adult Nurse Practitioner specialized in diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions primarily focused on lower extremities. Her journey into becoming a healthcare provider, while circuitous, contributes to the personal perspective she imparts and the ambience in each of her patient encounters. She is also an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Columbia University School of Nursing at the Columbia University Medical Center. Drawing from various mentors through the years, she endeavors to impart the wisdom lent to her as she helps train the next generation of nurses. Before joining Columbia Orthopedics, Carmela worked as an orthopedic trauma nurse in Boston, caring for a disadvantaged clientele in a Level 1 Trauma Center. She also worked in an ambulatory care short stay nurse at the Weill Cornell Campus of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and as an adult nurse practitioner at Fordham University’s Student Health Service.

Book Appointment Dr. Kimberly L. Cooper received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her urology residency training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center before completing a fellowship in voiding dysfunction, female urology and neurourology at the same institution. Dr. Cooper is board certified in urology. She sees female and male patients with voiding dysfunction including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary infections, urine retention, vaginal prolapse, hematuria, pelvic pain, neurogenic bladder, and BPH. She has expertise in performing urodynamic testing. Her clinical and research interests include voiding dysfunction, urinary tract infections, and minimizing antibiotic use by maximizing behavioral interventions and alternative therapies to prevent UTIs. She is a former competitive tennis player who played for Harvard University. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Westchester.

Dr. Christine Kim Garcia is the Frode-Jensen Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her laboratory studies the genetic basis of lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis. She is the Chief of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine Division within the Department of Medicine, a member of the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics and an affiliate of the Institute for Genomic Medicine.
