Janos Barrera, MD

Ayesha M. Rahman, MD, MSE, in an Orthopedic Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens who specializes in the care of complex injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. Dr. Rahman has a special interest in elbow instability, post-traumatic reconstructive surgery, arthroscopic minimally invasive surgery, and pediatric surgery. She has published research in Hand and Spine Journals and has delivered presentations at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Association of Hand Surgery annual meetings. After earning her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Rahman completed her residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at New York University. She then completed her fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center in hand and upper extremity surgery.

Daniel R. O'Connor, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who has served Brooklyn and Queens community for 30 years. Dr. O'Connor specializes in upper and lower extremity sports and ligament injuries, joint replacement and revision surgery, arthritis and fractures. He has a comprehensive approach to orthopedic problems and utilizes surgical and non-surgical modalities.Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. O'Connor developed a passion for problem solving and fixing things as a student at Brooklyn Technical High School. He combined that passion with an interest for science and chemistry in college, which led him to his decision to become a physician and surgeon. After graduating from the Unversidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez Medical School, Dr. O'Connor served a general surgery residency at New York Hospital and Medical Center of Queens, followed by a one year research fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital. He completed his four-year orthopedic surgery residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens. His orthopedic training was completed by serving as the Senior Annie C. Kane Fellowship in Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. O'Connor worked as a teaching attending physician at Catholic Medical Center for 15 years, during which time he had the opportunity to share his orthopedic skills and knowledge with the generation of orthopedic surgeons. Dr. O'Connor is board certified in orthopedic surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedics Surgeons, New York State Orthopedic Society, Brooklyn Orthopedic Society , and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Hughes is a spinal surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery and Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical School. Dr. Hughes has a background in biomedical engineering and approaches each patient and symptom as unique challenges that require custom approaches. He specializes in degenerative, deformity, and trauma-related diseases of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine. Dr. Hughes employs innovative, less invasive approaches to the spine whenever possible and indicated. He believes that one of the most critical factors in spine surgery is "getting it right the first time" for maximum benefit and outcomes.
