Dr. Hochfelder is originally from Briarcliff Manor and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Johns Hopkins University where he graduated with honors and was a starting pitcher and an Academic All-American on their championship baseball team. He received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the prestigious Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, NY. Following his residency, Dr. Hochfelder completed a one-year fellowship at the world famous Insall, Scott, Kelly Institute focused on primary, complex, and revision hip and knee replacements, as well as joint preservation. As part of his training, Dr. Hochfelder received specialized training in robotic assisted minimally invasive knee replacements, cartilage preserving and restoring procedures, and minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, including the anterior approach for hip replacements. As a result of his specialized training in all aspects of hip and knee surgery, Dr. Hochfelder is able to tailor treatments individually to each patient. Dr. Hochfelder has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals and presented his research and techniques at national and international forums. Dr. Hochfelder is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He was also elected to the American Orthopedic Association's Emerging Leaders Program, a distinction reserved for only 10% of practicing orthopedic surgeons in the nation. He then completed further training in complex hand and extremity reconstruction with a fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Fitzgerald is a native New Yorker and treats patients in Westchester and New York City.

Dr. Clifford's practice focus has been nearly exclusively hip and knee replacement and revision surgery for over 24 years. He takes the time to listen to his patients and explain their health and disease process in terms that are easy to understand. He has expertise in minimally invasive approaches for hip replacement, speeding recovery and minimizing surgical trauma so that more than 95% of patients can return home the same day as their surgery. He stays current in best practices regarding pain control agents, therapies, and pain management for both knee and hip patients. He continued to develop better strategies to treat pain post hip and knee replacement and attained a new leadership role as part owner and medical director for Legacy Ambulatory Surgical Center in Tampa Florida. Dr. Clifford was then recruited to assist with Northwell's Orthopedic department growth in Westchester County. Specifically, joint replacement volume growth at Phelps Hospital but also through growth of all orthopedic subspecialties throughout Westchester County and beyond as Northwell grows and expands to meet and exceed the needs of the communities in the areas we serve.
