Dr. Michael J Fitzgerald is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Clifford's practice focus has been nearly exclusively hip and knee replacement and revision surgery for over 24 years. He has expertise in minimally invasive approaches for hip replacement, speeding recovery and minimizing surgical trauma so that more than 95% of patients can return home the same day as their surgery. After 18 years of service to the Durham Community and his practice, he returned to Florida to help with his aging mother's healthcare and started a solo private practice based on refining the concept of outpatient joint replacement. He continued to develop better strategies to treat pain post hip and knee replacement and attained a new leadership role as part owner and medical director for Legacy Ambulatory Surgical Center in Tampa Florida. Dr. Clifford was then recruited to assist with Northwell's Orthopedic department growth in Westchester County.
