Lauren Sharan Ranard, MD, MS is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and cardiovascular computed tomography. Dr. Ranard has expertise in complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease with a focus on transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair and replacement, atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale closure, and left atrial appendage closure. Dr. Ranard is an attending physician at the Columbia Structural Heart and Valve Center and Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Ranard is a full-time faculty member and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Ranard is a faculty member of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. As a member of the CT Core Lab, she evaluates the cardiac imaging for multiple ongoing clinical trials for structural interventions. She also has extensive experience in testing novel transcatheter devices in preclinical studies at the Skirball Center for Innovation. In addition, Dr. Ranard is actively involved in several first-in-human and early feasibility studies.

Additionally, her work during residency on the treatment of Retrograde Cricopharyngeal Dysfunction earned her the Dr. Steven F. Balshi award through Jefferson and the Steven Dean Gray award through the American Broncho-Esophageal Association. Following residency, Dr. Siddiqui pursued fellowship training in Laryngology at the Columbia University Center for Voice and Swallowing and the Weill Cornell Medicine Sean Parker Institute for the Voice. During her fellowship, she gained extensive experience caring for professional voice users - including performers, teachers, and lawyers - as well as patients with complex swallowing and airway disorders, and she continues to provide specialized care for these populations. Dr. Siddiqui finds deep fulfillment in working alongside her team and helping patients speak, breathe, and swallow with greater ease. Alongside her clinical practice, she remains active in research aimed at advancing treatments for voice, airway, and swallowing disorders.
