Dr. Plasilova is a distinguished Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and a Yale fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, hailing from the Czech Republic. Her academic credentials are impressive, with an MD from Charles University in Prague and a Ph.D. in molecular and cancer stem cell biology from the same institution. Dr. Plasilova's extensive training also includes board certification in general surgery and additional oncoplasty training.Throughout her career, Dr. Plasilova has worked with a Nobel Prize Laureate and achieved several remarkable milestones. She served as Chief of Breast Surgery and founded the first Breast Cancer Center in East Brooklyn in 2016. In 2019, she was honored as a Global Teen Mentor by the prestigious We Are Family Foundation's Three Dot Dash initiative. In 2021, she established the first Pinnacle Breast Health/Surgery network dedicated to Eastern European breast cancer patients in the New York Metropolitan area. Since 2021, she has been serving on the board of Operation Breast Density, a non-profit organization.Dr. Plasilova is deeply invested in the early detection of breast cancer, exploring new biomarkers, and utilizing novel technologies and techniques to improve patient outcomes. She was honored by The Artists for Breast Cancer Survival with a concert at Carnegie Hall. The Healthcare Chaplaincy recognized her and her husband, Dr. Arnold L. Lisio with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. A graduate of Smith College and recipient of the alumna Gold Medal, she received her medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and her post-graduate training at The New York Hospital.
