Dr. Hupert has served on the Anthrax Modeling Working Group of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) (2003-9); was a member of the 2007 RAND Expert Panel on Defining Public Health Preparedness; was the founding Director of the Preparedness Modeling Unit at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2008-10); served on the Scientific Advisory Board of the NIGMS Modeling of Infectious Disease Agent Study (MIDAS) (2012-14); and was a Senior Medical Advisor for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in the office of the DHHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) (2014-15). Formerly Senior Advisor for both the CDC’s Division of Preparedness and Emerging Infections and the DHHS National Healthcare Preparedness Program, Dr. Hupert is now the Policy Lead for the Oxford-based COVID-19 International Modeling Consortium (https://comomodel.net ).
