Nancyanne Schmidt, MD

Dr. Coromilas graduated cum laude from Columbia College, Columbia University and earned her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society and The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by Dermatology residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. After completion of her Internal Medicine and Dermatology training, Dr. Coromilas completed the Complex Medical Dermatology Fellowship at University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. Misha Rosenbach. She specializes in providing care for patients with complex medical dermatologic conditions such as granulomatous skin conditions, hidradenitis suppurativa, cutaneous complications of inflammatory bowel disease, pyoderma gangrenosum, and autoimmune conditions of the skin such as lupus, dermatomyositis, and autoimmune blistering disorders. She has an interest in caring for patients with cutaneous adverse effects of oncologic therapy including immune related adverse events due to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Dr. Coromilas is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), as well as a member of the Medical Dermatology Society, Society of Dermatology Hospitalists, and Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS). She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has spoken at local and national dermatology conferences

Alicia Bacchus, RN, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Dominican University of California, in San Rafael California. Following graduation, she delivered compassionate nursing care in tertiary level hospitals in the areas of Med- Surg, Telemetry, and Ambulatory Surgical Care. In 2013, she returned to school to obtain a Master of Science degree in Nursing and completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of California, San Francisco.As a Nurse Practitioner, Alicia collaborated with patients and their family members across the lifespan to provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care. In her prior role as a clinical nurse practitioner, Alicia worked alongside genitourinary oncologists at Columbia University Medical Center providing comprehensive cancer care to patients with bladder, kidney, prostate,and testicular cancer diagnoses.Her professional interests in women's health and gynecology led her to Weil Cornell Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a member of the urogynecology team working closely with Drs. Asfaw and Segal, Alicia is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to women across the lifespan with pelvic floor disorders.As a devoted life-long learner, she is currently working towards obtaining a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at the University of California, San Francisco via the virtual platform. Alicia is seeing new patients at Weil Cornell Medicine's East 68th Street location on Monday's and Wednesday's.

Dr. Mapara is Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center and the Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT)/Cell Therapy Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Mapara graduated from the University of Heidelberg Medical School/Germany, and received his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology at the Universities of Heidelberg and the University Medical Center Charite of the Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany. In addition, he completed a research fellowship at the Transplantation Biology Research Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital at the Harvard Medical School in Boston. As Assistant Professor of Medicine, he headed the Hematologic Intensive Care Unit and served as deputy director of the Stem Cell Transplantation unit at the University Medical Center Charite in Berlin, Germany. Before coming to Columbia, Dr. Mapara was Associate Professor of Medicine (with tenure) at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and served as the Director of the Adult Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Program. Dr. Mapara specializes in the care of patients with sickle cell disease and certain blood cancers (Multiple Myeloma, Amyloidosis) undergoing bone marrow transplantation and gene therapy. His research is focused on developing novel approaches to make bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy safer for patients.
