Greek Orthodox Church of Corona
Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church is a parish of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Faith located in Corona, NY ( in the center of Queens ). We are a member of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the spiritual leadership of His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of America. Our Archdiocese is under the spiritual guidance of His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos I. Our community was founded by Greek immigrants in 1926, and we recently celebrated our 75th anniversary. We offer a full-range of liturgical, cultural, social, and educational programs. Most notably, a Greek-American parochial school, The School of Transfiguration, with classes from Pre-Kindergarten until Ninth grade, as well as, a Greek Afternoon School, offering free education, in the form of Greek language, religion, and folk dancing classes. Our parish is bilingual, worshipping in both Greek and English, with the desire to serve all members of the community.
