Parkway Elementary School

Parkway Elementary School, opened in 1955, is part of the East Meadow School District. The school serves more than 500 students in kindergarten through grade five. It has an academic program that includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies, English, and health and physical education. Additionally, the school offers educational lessons in music appreciation and computer applications. Parkway Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that raises funds for several projects, conducts monthly meetings and plans family activities. The association also sponsors book and fun fairs. The elementary school also encourages its students to participate in various community projects. Parkway Elementary School is located in East Meadow, N.Y.

Located in Wantagh, N.Y., Nassau Board of Cooperative Educational Services has been operational for more than 50 years. A full-service educational institution, Nassau BOCES serves various public and private schools, area colleges, community agencies and other local partners. The institute functions as an extension of the local school districts and the New York State Education Department, and serves more than 40,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12. It employs more than 1,000 full- and part-time personnel, and serves over 15 districts in New York, including Windsor, Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Deposit, Harpursville, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Newark Valley, Susquehanna Valley, Tioga and Vestal. The institute offers specialized programs in cooperation with IBM, The Kopernik Space Education Center, Waterman Center, United Health Services, Wantagh Workforce Development System, Partnership 2000, Roberson Museum and Science Center, and Binghamton University. Its divisions include center for educational support and technology, educational programs and career services department and management support services division.
