Rivertown Lodge is housed in an old movie house - with the original white marquee sign still hanging low over Warren Street. Next to the check-in counter - equipped with its own record player - a small gallery sells thoughtfully curated souvenirs. The simple rooms sustain that clean, vintage-modern aesthetic, with the same oak floors and bright palette.

Brunch was nice. We tried their fresh biscuits with jam, dutch baby with ricotta & maple, and Focaccia sandwich with fontina & calabrian chilli. The latter was really delicious.

I'm embarrassed to say the tavern name almost made me skip this gem. Tavern conjured up images of smoke stained walls and sticky floors. But boy oh boy, I'm so glad I trusted my trusty Yelp app...
