health center operates at 212 East 106th Street ( between 2nd and 3rd Avenues ) - the Health Education Department is at 2082 1st Avenue @ 108th Street. The center employs experienced physicians, nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives, offers services on two evenings and Saturdays, and provides 24-hour telephone coverage. New York State has designated Settlement Health a Preferred Primary Care Provider, and the federal government has designated the center a Federally Qualified Health Center.Settlement Health has been serving the community of East Harlem since 1977. We are a non profit community health center dedicated to providing high quality primary medical care to all who seek and need it. We also offer specialty care referrals through our affiliation with Mount Sinai Hospital.The health center currently employs over 80 individuals, and provides over 45, 000 health care visits annually to 12, 000 individuals. The health center has a budget of approximately $7.3 million. Federal, state, city and private funding account for 40% of operating funds, with patient and user fees accounting for the rest.
