Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk is a nonprofit, home health care and hospice agency serving the residents of Suffolk County since 1952. It has more than 200 staff members and over 100 trained hospice volunteers who assist patients and their families with transportation, grocery shopping and companionship. It offers a wide range of home health care services, such as registered nurses, enterostomal therapy, chronic wound and home health care, psychiatric and mental health nursing, and physical, speech and occupational therapies. It also provides various hospice care services, including medical social work, pastoral care, nutritional counseling, medical equipment and supplies, respite care, bereavement counseling, and medication for pain and symptom control.
