The Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph is a thriving Carmelite community located in Brooklyn, NY. However, due to the changing landscape of their former neighborhood, the Sisters have announced plans to build a new monastery in rural Northeast Pennsylvania. This new classical monastery, designed in a Spanish Carmelite style, will provide a haven of silence and prayer for the Sisters, as well as facilities for baking Communion wafers for parishes across the country. The Sisters' mission is centered around prayer, contemplation, and the devotion to the Holy Face. They seek to create a space where people can encounter God's love and mercy, radiating from His Holy Face, and experience the maternal care of Our Lady.
